Collection: Sketches

The Sketches collection is a visual exploration of the intersection between art, philosophy, and the dissolution of the self. Each drawing captures fleeting moments of daily life and connects them to deeper theological, philosophical, or psychoanalytical concepts. The challenge lies in the interpretation—how the mundane becomes a reflection of timeless ideas.

At the heart of these sketches is the concept central to the Beyond Author brand: the release of the self in the creative process. When I draw, I am not "myself." It’s as if the act of drawing channels something beyond the individual—the "Other" that flows through me. Drawing is a trance-like state, where the mind enters a flow, and time fades away. There is no conscious creation, only the act of seeing and translating what is already there.

The process is simple, but profound. I don’t "create" anything new—I copy. Before each drawing, I conduct a search, gather reference images, and then replicate them. The act of copying becomes a meditation, where authorship is erased, and the image becomes a product of something beyond my personal identity. To the question, "Can you draw this?" I answer, "I would prefer not to." This refusal to claim ownership or originality resonates with the core philosophy of Beyond Author—I am not the creator, I am merely the conduit through which the "Other" expresses itself.

Each sketch in this collection invites you to question the boundaries between creator, subject, and concept, challenging the viewer to see beyond the surface and engage with the deeper currents flowing through the art.
